i'm sitting in my lounge room with cold pizza and a glass of tea (i like my tea in a glass instead of a cup for some reason) for brunch, and i can hear someone outside singing 'oh come let us adore him' in a voice that sounds like a violin underwater. maybe there's a busker on racecourse rd somewhere... yesterday when i was on a tram going past bourke street mall, i saw a four piece brass band at the gpo. though i'm not usually a christmas carol kinda girl, they made me smile anyway.
it's raining outside - i guess it's our version of a white christmas - and this weekend we are off to the meredith music festival. the weekend forecast for the geelong region is for more rain - won't that be fun. camping in the rain with thousands of other people. muddy portaloos. wearing an oh-so-attractive blue plastic rain poncho all weekend. a mushy moshpit. i'm almost tempted to just stay at home - how sad is that? i have my fingers crossed that our car makes it to and back in one piece, it's been giving us a bit of grief lately. please please highway gods, remember all those karma points mark and i have notched up over the years... like all those times mark stopped on long drives to power-nap, like us taking all our rubbish home with us in a baggie, like stopping and nudging that echidna off the road that time, and that time we gave the squeegee guy ten bucks... we could really use some good karma payback this weekend. thank you!

p.s. penguin has confirmed that my first novel will be out in august 05... for more on that, click the blog title above or my byline below to be transported to my writing blog - giddy-up!
