ah, yes. life is full of double-edged-swordy situations, is it not?
on the one hand, i am happy to report that there has been a happy change in my circumstances: i am now with job. i have returned to the beery fold of my previous employ, and am quite pleased with that turn of events. i working 15 hours a week, though over two days per week instead of the previous three, which leaves me free to do other things. and we all know how i love other things...
on the other hand, the two days i work are monday. and sunday. cue screaming, gnashing of teeth etc...
however:
i am not yet as upset at the prospect of working on a sunday as i thought i would be. maybe this is because i have yet to actually do a sunday shift (first one's this sunday coming). i think having the free time during the week is going to be an absolute bonus for my writing, of which a bit has been happening. i used to like catching up with my mum and dad over the weekends before, but now that i see them every day i guess that helps. and weekdays are good because everyone else is working and it makes me feel as if i should be working too. now, all i need is a place somewhere to write, apart from the one i have at home - i find the distractions here too tempting. and if i make friday a writing day, i can always reward myself with an after-work catchup drink with friends... hmm. i like the way i think.
