been a while between blogs, hasn't it? the last couple of weeks has been a little hectic over my way - my mum was ill for a lot of it and my mind was on that. she's a lot better now, back home and resting up, which is excellent. we're supposed to be packing up our house and moving stuff into storage and that's been taking a back seat, though i hope to get more of that done this week and weekend. work has been full-on with training courses and extra hours all over the place, so needless to say i have been doing very little by way of serious writing. i have been watching some tv (this is, after all, me we're talking about). i cannot believe the angle that 'veronica mars' has taken of late. i couldn't help myself, and went looking for series outlines on the web... don;t worry, i won't give anything away here. i know just about enough to still be impatient about the actual airings. i love the series, i wish they would air it at a more decent hour though! drives me crazy that it's on so late. what is it with the networks and the way they treat excellent series like 'curb your enthusiasm', 'arrested development', and 'veronica mars'? i would rather watch them than three episodes of 'futurama' back-to-back (as much as i really do like futurama). it's just overkill. they did it last year with the simpsons. lazy programming really gets my goat. was busy lats night so missed the debut episode of 'extras' on the abc last night - did anyone watch it? what's the verdict? i finished watching love my way on dvd and that is one slick show - can't wait till the second series is out on dvd. also picked up this quirky doco called 'my date with drew' - if you see it at your local rental place, pick it up - it's a great flick. inspirational, even.
the reason i was not able to watch tv last night is because i was attending a dinner at my former uni. res. college, mannix. after dinner i did a little q&a session about the book, and did a couple of readings. it has been twelve years since i was a resident there, and going back was bizarre but fun. three of my friends who i met there also came along for the evening so it was a lot of fun re-living memories with them. anyway, i'll be posting more on last night at my other blog shortly.
